Intellectual Property Right Cell (IPR)

Creating Awareness about Intellectual property and know how about the rights is a need of an hour. Considering this fact, Intellectual property rights cell has been formed by the institution.

Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the intellect for which legal rights are assigned to designated owners by law. Intellectual property rights (IPRs) are the rights granted to the creators of IP, and include trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial design rights, plant breeders rights and trade secrets. Artistic works including music and literature, as well as discoveries, inventions, words, phrases, symbols, and designs can also be protected as intellectual property.

Roles of IP Cell

• To promote constant awareness about IPR.
• To conduct IP workshops/ seminars.
• To advice and guide students and faculty on the importance of IPR.
• To forward eligible cases of IPR to IPR Office Mumbai.
