The Department of Political Science is established in 1971. The department imparts education in Political Science under graduate and post graduate level. At the beginning of the Dept. of political science and the Dept. of Public Administration were a joint department later they were divided. The Department has Legacy of Pedant like Dr. S.K. Bhogle, Dr. R.S Ekhelikar and Dr. K.Y. Daud, who gave enrichment and fervour to this department. Dr. S.K. Bhogle was head of the department from July 1972 to Feb 2003. He was a member of the board of studies and also the chairman. He has 23 books to his credit. Dr. S. K. Bhogle was research guide, 15 researchers have completed their Ph.D. under his guidance. Dr. R.S. Ekhelikar became head of the department on 1st of March 2003. He was also a research guide, a good academician, as well as the member and chairman of the Board of Studies. Dr. Ekhelikar has published five books and five research fellows have completed their Ph.D. under his guidance. After his retirement Dr. B.G Wakale became HOD from August 2003 to March 2003. Dr. K.Y. Daud was not only a good lecturer but also a good academician. Dr. P.S. Amrutkar was a faculty member in the department. He has published five books and 8 research fellows have completed their M. Phil. under his guidance. At present he has been working in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University Aurangabad. At present HOD Dr. R.B. Shejul has been working in the department. Dr. S.H. Kamble and Shree V.B. Aware for P.G. & Shri. D.S. Lawand, Dr. D.J. Ermule and Shree N.V. Khandare for U.G. are working in the department on a clock hour basis.
