Welcome to the Department of Public administration, Vivekanand College, Aurangabad. Public Administration is the study of how government works and how government can work better. The discipline encompasses the analysis of public organizations, policies, programs and its governance. It is the most applied to all the disciplines of Social Sciences and is very useful for students planning a career in public service, private sector or in NGOs.
As a separate discipline we started our journey in 1992 at UG level and introduced PG course in the academic year 2005-06. Keeping pace with the demands of the time, the Department is going to introduce self financed Certificate course in Office Management from current academic year. Very soon department will have recognition of Research Centre as the documentary process is over.
Several students have got the UGC JRF/NET, ICSSR, Rajiv Gandhi and other fellowships. The Alumni of the department have excelled in academia, bureaucracy, NGO and corporate sectors. From time to time, the Department has organized seminars, workshops and symposia, which have been attended by academicians and experts from all over the country and has undertaken a number of research studies which have been sponsored by various agencies. Department faculties are continuously engaged in guiding for competitive exams. Department organizes study tour and guest lecturers so that student knowledge could get new heights.
