The Department of Physics was established in 1989. It is headed by Prof. D. R. Shengule and runs the undergraduate course. The Department organizes various extra-curricular activities such as a workshop, training programs & lecture series, carrier opportunity guidance of renowned personalities for the vertical growth of the students every year.
The Department is an active beehive of research being carried out in a variety of frontier areas & all faculties are actively participating in research activities. It covers a number of areas like Materials Science, NanoPhysics, and Nonlinear Dynamics, etc.
A total 16 number of students have completed their research work under the guidance of faculty members. The faculty members have completed 4 minor research projects under the UGC fund schemes.
