The department of Botany offers Programme leading to the Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree in a variety of special areas including Plant Taxonomy, Plant Pathology, Medicinal plants etc. Besides, Department also provided Certificate diploma and advance diploma courses in seed testing and plant biotechnology.
The Department of Botany is the first among University affiliated Colleges to award 19 Ph.D. students in Botany faculty of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University, Aurangabad. More than 125 research articles have been published in the national and international journal by the faculty members.
The Department has established recognised Herbarium House in which about eleven thousand plant specimens have deposited from various localities of Maharashtra and different states of India. About two thousand specimens are of Pteridophytes.
The Department of botany teachers provide medicinal plants and its parts to patients suffering from different diseases and disorders free of cost. We also provide authentication and validation to Pharmacy and Ayurvedic students.
The Department is committed to provide advanced knowledge about plants to the society and students at large.
