About Department

The Department of Sociology was established in the year 1971 with undergraduate course, and in 1996 postgraduate degree was introduced.

The academic activities of the Department particularly in the field of teaching, research and extension activities, meant for knowledge generation and its dissemination have got tremendous momentum. The organization of seminars, workshop, conferences and extension lectures and field visit are some the activities aims at disseminating of sociological knowledge helpful to have an exposure of its pedagogy and to get more knowledge to student of sociology.

Educational Objectives

To equip the students with the latest sociological knowledge, research aptitude and skills.

• To enrich student understanding of dynamics of Indian society and the global social order.
• To organize the extension activities related to the social exposure.
• To bring out various aspect of human personality and human psychology as related in this particular era.
